Heard at NEO
At Microsoft's New Employee Orientation, they were impressing upon us the diversity of the company. "What country are you from?"
"Canada"
"Trinidad and Tobago"
"Iran"
"England"
"Quebec"
...about half the room got the joke, but not the presenter.

Hahaha! That's awesome. It reminds me of an information session that Google put on this past winter at UW:
Before the presentation, Google had given everyone in the room magnetic mini-writing boards (the kind they give out during frosh week). Being a room full of nerds, a group of guys in the front row decided to write out pi, one digit to a board.
When they held them up during the presentation and yelled, "Pi!", the presenter said, "Wow, there's a lot of low numbers in there - 3, 1, 4. I guess the crowd doesn't like me."
Later on, they repeated the stunt, but using e instead. The presenter: "Oh, there's some higher numbers in there this time: 7, a couple of 8's. I guess I'm getting better."
{sigh}

good sir. we got your message on the phone. our phone dies all the time and haven't got around to replacing it due to extreme costs of replacing said appiance. Instead of spending $20 to replace home phone we let messages collect on it and phone it from Rick's american cell to collect msg's and then return calls with the american cell at a rate ranging anywhere from $0 per minute to "holy hell, did you see what this effin phone bill is this month???". it doesn't take a CA student to realize our thinking/ fiscal management is flawed. On the other hand there is a real freedom associated with being someone who doesn't own a realiable phone. I tip my hat to you. See you in two. best phone me after saturday as i am studying til then.
